Google BigQuery Connector

Export your raw analytical telemetry directly into your own Google Cloud Platform Data Warehouse via automated overnight NDJSON batch loads.

1. Why Export Raw Telemetry to BigQuery?

While the MousePlayer dashboard provides instant session replays and visual heatmaps, enterprise data science and Business Intelligence (BI) teams require direct SQL access to raw behavioral logs. By syncing MousePlayer data into Google BigQuery, you can:

  • Join Telemetry with Backend Data: Combine front-end user sessions with CRM records, payment gateway logs, and billing databases using custom SQL queries.
  • Train Custom AI/ML Models: Use granular mouse movement trajectories and rage-click patterns to train predictive churn and fraud detection algorithms.
  • Zero Storage Costs on MousePlayer: Data is exported directly into your GCP project, giving you 100% data ownership and compliance with enterprise IAM policies.

2. Business Plan vs. Enterprise Plan Capabilities

The BigQuery Connector is available exclusively on Business and Enterprise plans. Depending on your tier, you can select which datasets to include in the automated daily overnight export:

Exported Table Data Content & Schema Business Plan Enterprise Plan
visitor_sessions_YYYYMMDD Full session metadata (Session ID, Visitor ID, IP, Country, Device, OS, Browser, Duration, Referrer, UTMs, custom_user_id). Included Included
visitor_custom_events_YYYYMMDD All standard conversions and custom events (e.g., purchase, rage_click, error_detected, form submits) along with typed EAV parameters. Included Included
mouse_events_YYYYMMDD Granular coordinate stream (X, Y, timestamps, scroll depth, click targets, target CSS selectors) for every recorded pageview. Not Available Enterprise Excl.

Why is mouse_events restricted to Enterprise? A single high-traffic website can generate tens of millions of coordinate rows per day. Processing and exporting raw coordinate telemetry requires dedicated high-throughput workers and extended SLA guarantees available only on Enterprise contracts.

3. Setup Guide: GCP Service Account & IAM Permissions

MousePlayer never asks for your personal Google login. Instead, you create a dedicated Service Account within your Google Cloud Console with minimal permissions:

  1. In Google Cloud Console, navigate to IAM & Admin → Service Accounts and click Create Service Account.
  2. Name the service account (e.g., mouseplayer-bq-writer).
  3. Assign exactly two IAM roles: BigQuery Data Editor and BigQuery Job User.
  4. Go to the Keys tab of your new service account, click Add Key → Create new key, and select JSON.
  5. Open your MousePlayer Dashboard, go to Your Properties → Settings → BigQuery, and paste your GCP Project ID, Dataset ID, Service Account Email, and the JSON key content.

Security & Encryption: Your JSON private key is encrypted with military-grade AES-256-GCM encryption before being written to our database. Raw keys are never stored in plaintext and cannot be read back through the HTML interface.
